Privacy Policy for Bag
Effective date: September 28, 2026
Bag – Your Game in One Place (“Bag”) is provided by unnecessaryMonday LLC (“unnecessaryMonday,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use Bag and its related services.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
Bag uses Sign in with Apple. When you create an account, Apple may provide us with:
Your name
Your email address, which may be an Apple private-relay address
A unique account identifier
Apple may provide your name and email only when you first authorize the app. We retain this information with your account to operate the service and restore your information on returning devices.
Golf, fitness, and gameplay information
When you use Bag, we may store information about your golf activity, including:
Golf courses and tees selected
Rounds, holes, scores, shots, putts, clubs, lies, and distances
Practice sessions and practice history
Shot locations and other round details
Player preferences, profile information, and golf-related goals
Saved recommendations, insights, cues, and drills
We use this information to provide round tracking, preserve your golf history, and personalize coaching and recommendations.
Chat, journal, and other user content
We collect content you choose to submit, including:
Coaching conversations and written messages
Journal entries and notes
Voice-journal transcripts
Feedback and customer-support messages
Responses sent to you by our support or administrative team
Other free-form information you add to your profile or golf history
Because these areas allow free-form input, you should avoid including sensitive personal information that is not necessary to use the app.
Feedback screenshots
You may optionally attach screenshots to feedback or support requests. Screenshots may contain information visible on your screen when you create or copy them.
Please submit only screenshots and other content that you have the right to share.
Location information
When you enable GPS features, Bag may use and collect precise location information to:
Find nearby golf courses
Provide on-course yardages
Determine your position on a hole
Record the locations of shots or ball markers
Associate an optional journal entry with a position in your round
Location associated with a saved round or journal entry may be stored with your account so you can review your golf history and receive personalized insights.
Bag does not use location information for advertising or cross-app tracking. Version 1.0 does not upload or retain a separate continuous diagnostic GPS log.
You can control location access through your device settings. Disabling location access may prevent GPS-dependent features from working.
Voice recordings and transcripts
When you create a voice-journal entry:
Bag records an audio file locally on your device.
The recording remains available locally so you can play it back.
A temporary copy is transmitted through our server to OpenAI’s transcription service.
Our server processes the audio in memory and does not store the recording in Firestore, cloud storage, or another server-side audio archive.
OpenAI processes the recording to generate a transcript.
We store the resulting transcript with your account and golf history.
Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, locally stored recordings may be included in device backups managed by Apple.
Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from that device. Other device backups are controlled through your Apple account and device settings.
Usage and diagnostic information
We may collect information needed to maintain and improve the reliability of Bag, including:
App version and build number
Device type and operating-system version
App sessions and basic product interactions
Crash reports
Error information and diagnostic breadcrumbs
The Bag user ID associated with an error or crash
Technical information needed to investigate failures, security issues, and service performance
We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing
Bag uses third-party artificial-intelligence services, including OpenAI, to provide coaching responses, analyze golf-related content, and transcribe voice entries.
Information sent for AI processing may include:
Chat messages and journal content
Relevant golf context needed to generate a response
Temporary voice recordings submitted for transcription
We do not intentionally send your contact information to AI providers unless it is included in content you submit or is otherwise required to service your request.
Information processed by AI providers is subject to their applicable service terms and data controls. OpenAI states that information submitted through its API is not used to train or improve its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI’s published data controls currently list the audio-transcription endpoint as having no application-state or abuse-monitoring retention.
You should not rely on AI-generated responses as medical advice or as a substitute for professional instruction.
4. Service Providers
